It's going to happen A LOT! Play around with new strategies and you'll learn how to build stronger decks. Most of all, have fun and don't get discouraged when you die. Look for solutions to the upcoming fights and build accordingly. Bloated decks mean less effective turns.Īs you enter act 2 try to find a good block mechanic, some kind of scaling (Str for Ironclad, Dex or poison for Silent, Focus for Defect), and some AoE to deal with hallway fights.Īs you learn what each boss does, keep that in mind when choosing cards. If the cards offered don't improve your deck in a meaningful way don't take them. The relics you get from elites are always worth the risk, and can help steer you towards what kind of deck you want to build.ĭon't force a deck build!! Sometimes you have to take mediocre cards if it's what your deck needs at the time. If your deck can't handle act 1 elites you don't have much hope for act 2 and beyond. Try to fight as many elites as your deck can handle. Act 1 elites punish decks with too many skills. But congrats to going into A2 with him, because it's hard anyway :)Īt the start of your run prioritize frontloaded damage (i.e. P.s : yes defect is "easier" that the other characters is lower ascension. This game is made for having fun trying to beat the spire, if you are only having fun when you win, you are doing it wrong. Did the A20H many times with all the characters and I'm still really bad at it!)ĭon't focus on winrate or higher ascension. And even when you've got a lot of hours in it, you still suck no matter what you do, and it's ok, the game is designed to be like that. The game can be really unfair ans it's a really hard-to-understand game, even if it looks "easy" on the surface. And sometime, only ONE bad decision car ruin a great run!ĭon't feel bad because you die à lot, or feels like the game is unfair, because it's part of its design. If most of the runs would be victorious, it would be less challenging and less rewarding to kill the act 3 boss. The goal here is to build strong deck and have fun and overcoming hard challenges. Keep in mind that Slay the Spire is a hard game and you'll spend most of your time dying, and that's perfectly fine.
